With the laying of a wreath and standing in silent vigil, State Troopers joined law enforcement officers from across the state to honor the 280 Minnesota officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The vigil, part of Law Enforcement Memorial Day in Minnesota, took place from 7 p.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial on the south end of the State Capitol grounds.
As Troopers stood guard Tuesday morning, Col. Matt Langer and Lt. Col. Shelly Schrofer laid a wreath for the eight Troopers who have died in the line of duty.
